Overview:
Metal Alloys are materials made by combining two or more metals, or a metal with non-metal elements, to create a substance with enhanced properties that are superior to those of the individual components. The process of alloying typically improves characteristics such as strength, hardness, corrosion resistance, and ductility, making alloys more suitable for specific applications than pure metals. Common examples of metal alloys include steel, an alloy of iron and carbon, which is known for its strength and versatility; bronze, made from copper and tin, valued for its hardness and resistance to wear; and brass, a combination of copper and zinc, which is prized for its malleability and acoustic properties. Alloys are widely used in various industries, from construction and transportation to electronics and medical devices, where the tailored properties of these materials are crucial to performance and durability.
